How to Scan Documents to PDF on Your Phone
A phone camera can produce a clean PDF when pages are photographed evenly, cropped carefully and arranged before export.
Prepare the page and lighting
Place the document on a flat surface with a contrasting background. Use bright, indirect light from both sides when possible and avoid a strong overhead reflection. Hold the phone parallel to the page so the edges remain rectangular.
Capture readable pages
- Clean the camera lens before starting.
- Fill most of the frame without cutting off corners.
- Tap the text area to focus and keep your hands steady.
- Review small print immediately instead of discovering blur after creating the PDF.
Build the PDF in the correct order
- Crop and rotate each photo in the phone’s photo editor.
- Rename or select images in page order.
- Open the JPG to PDF tool and choose all pages.
- Move images up or down if the order is wrong.
- Create the PDF, open the preview and confirm that no page is missing.
Keep the file manageable
Modern phone photos can be several megabytes each. If the PDF is intended for email or a portal, use a moderate image size or compress the final PDF. Do not reduce quality so far that ID numbers, stamps or signatures become difficult to read.
